Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the most common questions I hear from clients—answered with the care, clarity, and warmth I bring to every session. From styling tips to session timelines, logistical details to delivery expectations, this guide maps the process so you can focus on enjoying the experience.
Location
Where do sessions take place?
You can choose between my Garden Grove studio (perfect for styled setups and newborn comfort) or outdoor/on-location shoots. Travel within Orange County is included—additional fees may apply for locations beyond OC.
Where are you located?
My studio is located at 7291 Garden Grove Blvd, Unit B, Garden Grove, CA.
Before Your Shoot
What should I wear for my session?
I provide styling guidance, and you’ll also have access to a curated wardrobe of dresses and outfits. Neutral tones, flowing fabrics, and simple textures photograph beautifully. Bring anything personal that reflects your style.
Do you offer hair and makeup services?
Yes! As a licensed cosmetologist, I can provide styling recommendations and connect you with trusted hair and makeup artists to complete your look.
Can I bring props or personal items?
Absolutely! Heirlooms, baby blankets, ultrasound photos, or sentimental items add meaning to your session. I also provide props and studio setups to complement your style.
How should I prepare for my session?
You’ll receive a prep email tailored to your session type (maternity, newborn, family, branding). It covers wardrobe tips, what to bring, and how to make the day stress-free.
Can pets or extended family be included?
Yes, pets are welcome, and extended family can join family sessions with a small additional fee. Please let me know in advance so I can plan for space, time, and posing.
Maternity & Newborn
When will I receive my photos?
Your gallery will be ready within 2 days for you to review and pick out your favorite photos. Once you’ve made your selections, the edited photos will be delivered within 3–5 days.
Do you include retouching?
Yes—basic retouching (skin softening, light blemish removal, color correction) is included. Additional edits (extensive touch-ups, object removal, etc.) are available upon request.
How many images will I receive?
Each package includes a set number of edited images (varies by session type), delivered via an online gallery. Additional images or upgrades are always available.
After Your Photoshoot
When is the best time to schedule a maternity session?
Maternity sessions are best held between 28–34 weeks of pregnancy. This is when your bump is beautifully rounded, but you’re still comfortable moving and posing.
How long does a typical session last?
- Maternity & Family: 60–90 minutes
- Newborn: 2–3 hours (to allow for feeding, soothing, and breaks)
- Branding/Headshots: 45–60 minutes
What if my baby doesn’t sleep during a newborn shoot?
Don’t worry—this happens often! Sessions are designed with plenty of breaks, feeding time, and soothing techniques. Awake photos can be just as beautiful and authentic.
What if my baby is older than the newborn stage?
Newborn photos are ideal within the first 10–14 days, but I also offer “older newborn” and milestone sessions. Each stage brings its own unique charm.
Do you include family/sibling portraits in newborn sessions?
Yes—parents and siblings are encouraged to join! Capturing those first family moments together is part of what makes newborn photography so special.
